Wolfden Loop (F.D. Roosevelt State Park)

Wolfden Loop comes in at 6.7 miles with everchanging scenery at F.D. Roosevelt State Park. Wolfden Loop lives up to it's name passing by a large rock outcrop formerly a wolf den.

The hike starts off at at Rocky Point Parking lot. Starting on the White Candle Trail, the trail traverses the side of Pine Mountain with sparatic views to the right during the fall and winter. Just under two miles the trail reaches Odie Overlook, one of many overlooks in Pine Mountain. After passing the Overlook, the trail meets with the Pine Mountain Trail. No matter the time of year, waterproof hiking boots are recommended for this wet trail!

The trail reaches a stream and the surroundings becomes dense and almost immediately fills with green vegetation. After meandering over the creek multiple times, the trail comes across a small waterfall.

After passing the small waterfall the trail cotinues over multiple creek crossings coming to the highlight section of the hike, Cascade Falls with the wolfden to it's immediate left.

The hike continues on and loops around to Rocky Point Parking Lot making this 6.7 mile hike one to remember.

*Note that multiple campsites dot this hike for backpacking.
